For most people, the world’s oceans are beautiful, awesome – yet often misunderstood. The reason is, perhaps, obvious: we cannot see below the surface of the ocean without ‘diving into’ its depths. Because of our physical limitations we can only ‘dive into’ those depths for so far and for so long. We can merely examine, barely touch, the fringe of these massive bodies of water. As has been stated, what lies below the ocean’s surface is almost as alien to us as another planet. Through our Open Water Diver Program you will learn the techniques to effortlessly explore and enjoy the underwater world, to conquer those depths, to discover that alien world.
The Open Water Diver Program will teach you the skills necessary to safely explore the waters of the Northwest and the world. Through our comprehensive classroom and pool training you will learn the importance of diving physics and physiology, dive table use and dive planning, and equipment use and function. During five two-hour pool sessions you will acquire all to the skills necessary to make you the most confident, capable, and competent diver possible. In six Open Water dives we will apply all of these skills, preparing you for future enjoyment of the underwater world.
